Hasselblad X2D II 100C, Phocus live view with Automatic Exposure Preview Override
When photographing with the Hasselblad X2D II 100C in manual mode and using a flash, Live View can sometimes appear very dark. This is because the camera is showing a simulation of the exposure without the flash essentially how the image would look with the settings you’ve chosen but without any additional light. Since the camera cannot know how much light the flash will actually provide, the Live View appears dark. This feature is called Exposure Simulation.
But there’s a solution: the A button, located next to the DOF button. Pressing it activates Automatic Exposure Preview Override (also called Auto Gain). This means that Live View ignores the actual exposure settings and displays a bright, neutral image, making it easy to compose and see your subject. The image you see is not actually exposed this way it only affects how Live View appears.
In summary: Live View may appear dark when using flash in manual mode, but pressing the A button gives you a bright and accurate preview without affecting the final image.
Thanks to Peter Eriksson for the tip it solved a problem I was having.
